What is Psychotherapy?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is an in-depth, often long-term, treatment which explores beyond the surface to deeper, unconscious layers of the personality. Difficult experiences and complicated relationships from the past can have an ongoing impact on our relationships with ourselves and others in the present. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process between you and your therapist to help you make sense of, and try to change, behaviour, feelings, thoughts that are troubling you.
